Why
So I've got a nice hybrid bike for commuting to work, but as part of that journey I have to spend a significant amount of time on roads (if I want the most direct and flattest route). I'm always wary of cycling on the road because I know (as a driver) how bad other road users are!
To try and give myself some protection I would mount my GoPro (which I use for my underwater videography - if you are interested, check out my portfolio on Vimeo) on my handlebars to record where I'm cycling. My idea is if anything happens to me, the camera is recording away - at least for now what is in front of me.

The parts
GoPro sell a kit, it is universal for handlebars, seatposts or poles.

In side the kit, you get the clamp (which uses two thumbscrews to clamp down so you are not restricted on the opening of a traditional clamp - you can separate the parts and then re-attach then on the pole), two rubber inserts which are used to bulk out the gap if you are attaching to something narrow (like a ski pole), or something not-so-thin like bike handlebars.

The mounting
The clamp goes on the upright, and then adaptors are used to raise the GoPro (and orientate it facing forwards)

Finale
Now whenever I go for a ride, I attach the GoPro, hit record and off I go!
